Hidamari Engineering Services, P.C is seeking an MEP Drafter to work in Flushing, Queens, New York.

The individual must have 3 months of experience in the use of the computer program- AutoCad and a
Bachelor’s Degree. The MEP Drafter must also be able to do the following:
- Prepare detailed plumbing and electrical designs and plans for internal residential and commerial buildings.
- Ability to use engineering software to assist with thermal load calculations.
- Ability to conduct lighting and power load calculations and optimization of
these calculation parameters to meet New York City Energy compliance codes.
- Assist with the optimization of building pipe sizes through hydrualic calculations.
- Understand Stormwater Management designs to develop the appropriate Site Connection designs for every building type.
- Ability to conduct water supply and sanitary and storm drainage calculations.
- Perform sprinkler hydraulic calculations using software.
- Utilize hydraulic calculations and the specific water service demand of a
building to design a back flow prevention system to meet NFPA (National Fire Protection
Association) codes.
- Fundamental understanding of NYC building codes.
- Required to use the computer program, AutoCad by Autodesk to create detailed construction
drawings incorporating designs into architectural layouts.
- Required to use a combination of tools, such as a scientific calculator and excel calculation
spreadsheets. Also use of ductulator to determine the appropriate size of air ducts.
- Review shop drawings and contractors work to assist in the final signoff of as-built drawings in all
disciplines.
- May involve travel to job sites and review site conditions. Site inspections are conducted to ensure compliance with design drawings.
